Dance Routines
While we were waiting to film our opening scene at our first location (a bus) we realised we desperately needed a dance routine that was not to risky and with minimum risk of injury as we only had a limited amount of space.

Our camera shot list
Here are some of the camera shots that we intend to use in our music video.
Long shot: typically shows the entire object or human figure and is usually intended to place it in some relation to its surroundings. It has been suggested that long-shot ranges usually correspond to approximately what would be the distance between the front row of the audience and the stage in live theater.
Medium shot: a medium shot is a camera shot from a medium distance. The dividing line between "long shot" and "medium shot" is fuzzy, as is the line between "medium shot" and "close-up". In some standard texts and professional references, a full-length view of a human subject is called a medium shot.
Extreme close up: this is used on an object or a person. it is usually used to highlight the emotions on the subjects face for example anger, sadness or even pain.
Close up: Close-ups are one of the standard shots used regularly with medium shots and long shots (cinematic techniques). Close-ups display the most detail, but they do not include the broader scene. Moving in to a close-up or away from a close-up is a common type of zooming.

The look we are aiming for
I went onto Photoshop and played around with an image by changing the lighting, lips, hair colour, adding an earring that goes with the theme of our music video and I also played around with different fonts. This was all done to get a feel for the type of setting, genre and image we want for things that we will use for our project for example the digipak or the magazine advert.

OUR SONG LIST
We researched into other music videos as we ha to find a song that had a up beat tempo to it so we decided to look at RnB music and searched mostly female artists.
Underneath are some music videos from RnB female artists consisting of acts such as Beyonce, Kelly Rowland, Alicia Keys and other. We didn't only want to just look at all dance type music from the artist but also slow songs which have a beat that a dance could be performed to.
We also looked at music videos to see if their videos are good or bad so that we could make a remake of it but then we agreed to also look at ones that are recently new which do not yet have a video to it, so that the ideas would be 100% new and original.

Our original choice
My group decided on originally choosing the song "Viva La Vida" by Coldplay but were advised against doing so, as our teacher pointed out that the beat in the song was not strong enough and would make our job of cutting to the beat much more difficult.

Examples of digipaks
Here are some examples of professionally done digipaks by other artists. This is what we are aming for out digipak to look like.
This is an example of a digipak made by another A2 media student.

Analysis of Digipak
Colour: The colour used on the digipak is a deep red. The colour red is associated with danger, lust, love, panic etc. In contrast with the title of the album "Don't Panic" it may show that though the band is saying don't panic they are finding it hard to take their own advice even though they may be trying to reassure others.
Images: There is a image of what seems to be a plant of some kind standing alone. This could mean that though you may feel alone/ an outcast that you should not be afraid and should not panic even if sometimes you feel like you are you should be confident and trust in yourself.
Text: The text used is in black and white. This shows that though you may panic things can be as clear and black and white and as long as you keep that in mind you will be able to overcome whatever it is you are worrying about.

Analysis of digipaks
Colours: The colours used are brown. This links in with the album being acoustic. The meaning of acoustic is "of being an instrument that does not produce or enhance sound electronically". When this is paired with the brown used on the digipak and the meanings associated with the colour brown e.g. "a connection with natural earth and stability". You are able to see a clear link between the two as they both relate back to the type of album this is. (Acoustic).
Images: The image used on the digipak is a single acoustic guitar on its own with nothing else accompanying again linking back to the type of album that Oasis has made. This could mean that the album is very much guitar based type a raw music/material as if they are going back to basics with their music in its purest form.
Text: The text used is very simple and not at all very fussy. Also it has Roman numerals which may mean that there are going to be other albums of the same type of format. Again its simplicity of the text relates to the type of album this is.
Analysis of digipaks
This is a digipak from the singer Rihannas first album.
Costume: the outfit she is wearing is a summer type of dress sense which links to the album being released in the summer. Also her clothing is very revealing. This is a tactic used as it is her her opening into the music industry she needs to be made marketable to all audiences. She is made marketable to men by being seen as "hot" or "sexy" and she is being marketed to women by being seen as a "good looking", "pretty" and "stylish".
Colour: The colours used are very warm mid tone colours. This again links to the album being released in the summer as the colours are warm.
Location: The singer seems to be in a club. This could connote that the album contains club type songs or that the album has a club type feel to it. This could denote that the album is for a young audience or those who enjoy the club seen.

What is a digipak
A cardboard sleeve which opens up like a book to reveal a plastic tray glued inside which holds the CD. All the CD artwork is printed on the cardboard packaging. May include a booklet which will slot inside the digipak. They may also be made out of plastic. Here are some examples of digipaks above.
